History of the Clocktower Road Race

Share This:

The first running of the Clocktower 5K Road Race was in August of 1996.  The Rome Jaycees started the race as a fundraiser to benefit the restoration of Rome's symbol, the City Clock, which sits atop one of Rome's seven hills.  Jamie Doss was the first race director, and continues to run this race each year, often winning his age group or taking the honors as Overall Masters winner.
